Located less than 20 miles east of Phoenix, Mesa is home to approximately 527,670 people, making it the 3rd largest city in Arizona behind Phoenix and Tuscon. Mesa is bordered by Tempe on the west, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community on the north, Chandler and Gilbert on the south, and Apache Junction on the east.
