Phoenix is the capital of Arizona and the most populous city in the state, home to just under 1.63 million people. An expansive metropolis, Phoenix has become the center around which more than twenty communities have grown in an area collectively known as the "Valley of the Sun.”  The Phoenix metro area led the nation for new jobs created over the last year. Major companies headquartered in Phoenix include Avnet, Freeport-McMoRan, Republic Services, PetSmart, Apollo Group, Insight Enterprises, ON Semiconductor, with many other major companies doing business in the metro Phoenix area such as Intel Corp, GoDaddy, Infusionsoft, PayPal, Verizon, and GoDaddy, just to name a few.  

When it comes to shopping, the Phoenix metro area includes numerous chic boutiques, high-end shopping malls, outdoor lifestyle centers, and designer outlet destinations. The Phoenix area provides plenty of year-round outdoor recreation with more than 41,000 acres of desert and mountain parks and preserves offering everything from arduous summit climbs to secluded valley walks. Salt River also provides plenty of recreational fun with bike paths and picnic areas that surround the lake.
