The Gold Mine Trail (2.5 miles) allows you to hike to the highest point in the park. 

In nearby Phoenix, you can hike around the red butte formations in Papago Park, including the iconic Hole-in-the-Rock, featuring the main chamber that looks out over nearby lagoons and the distant downtown skyline. The trails in Papago Park are typically smooth with little elevation, providing easy access for walking, hiking, mountain biking or trail running. Another great hiking destination is Camelback Mountain located in the Echo Canyon Recreation Area between the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix and Paradise Valley. Two difficult trails ascend 1,420 feet to a summit resembling the hump of a camel's back, affording 360-degree views of the surrounding city.   • Encanterra Country Club is located in nearby San Tan Valley and features a private 18-hole desert/traditional golf course designed by golf architect Tom Lehman, with stunning views of The Superstition and San Tan Mountains.
